Every Ex repair starts with verification of the machine's certification: Ex marking, certificate references, gas group, temperature class and type of protection are recorded and the certificate conditions are checked before any work is scoped. A repair that would compromise the certified design is not carried out without the manufacturer's data or a documented engineering justification.
Flameproof (Ex d) enclosures are measured at every flame path, gap and thread engagement against the certified drawings and restored by machining, sleeving or reclamation to the specified tolerances. Increased-safety (Ex e) windings are rewound with the original winding data and insulation class so that temperature rise and tE time remain within certification. Non-sparking (Ex n / Ex ec) and pressurised (Ex p) machines follow the same controlled route.
After repair the machine is tested electrically and mechanically, fitted with the repair marking required by IEC 60079-19 and released with a repair report that lists the work performed, the critical dimensions measured and the test results, giving your inspectors the traceability they need.
